Von Party may not be a familiar name to most, for those who don't know, Thomas "Von Party" happens to be the brother of "Tiga" also the long time A&R of "Turbo Recordings" and co-owner of the label Multi Culti. Thomas has an ear for music and this is evident in his debut for Convex Industries. Psychotropics is an FM synthesis bell driven monster which churns along with metallic drones over a rigid beat. Alkaloid Scrap Jazz is a journey through percussion with sporadic keys dashed throughout. Broad Spectrum and the Jori Hulkkonen remix are both a blissful listen, travelling through submerged soundscapes and wonky strings reminiscent of Aphex Twins "Selected Ambient Works" series. The whole EP is a taste of what years of A&Ring a hugely successful label such as Turbo and a fne tuned ear to good music and production can lead you.
