The Lanterns EP includes a phenakistoscope, a turntable-powered animation illusion. Follow these steps to see the full effect! First, place the disc on your turntable, next, shine a bright, direct light on the surface of the disc. (The brighter the light, the clearer the image, so try to use as many light sources as possible!) Finally, watch the disc through your camera phone to view the animation. (If the image appears to be moving too quickly, make sure that your camera is set to shoot at 30FPS rather than slomo. You can also view the effect with the naked eye by watching the phenakistoscope under a strobe light in a dark room! This replaces the need for a camera. ''VinylStrobe'' is an app on the iOS store which is already coordinated for phenakistoscopes, but any smartphone strobe app that can flash at 30Hz will work.
