Operator's latest project, after contributing to a recent EP on CLR, and a successful solo EP on Audio Assault, is this dark selection of tools, on his own label 'Gnosis'. Going with the theme of the label, these cuts are dark, hypnotic, dense, but club friendly techno tools, all with very different atmospheres and energy to offer for the discerning DJ. Title track 'Dark Circle' is a train-chug rolling groove that builds steadily until squelchy analog textures descend to push it over the edge into trippy, heads down, peak time territory. 'Grid 9' is a more upbeat, set building affair, but no less trippy and atmospheric, likely to send peoples' heads into a spin as much as make their hips move! 'Going There' is the toughest offering here, with it's grungy, driving, textured rolling groove building to an intense climax. And finally 'Revolt on Titan' rounds off the EP in a melodic, emotional tone, with its chord progressions and spacey sounds. Title track Dark Circle, is a textured, hypnotic peak time groove, while Grid 9's quirky and tripped out synth textures provide the psychedelic flavours.
