With King Fu, the Dutch dj/producer and label owner Alexander Koning has already explored several new forms of nowadays minimal techno and house. After releasing music from wellknown artists like Mateo Murphy, Jeff Bennet and Nicholas Bacher, the fourth part on Konings King Fu catalogue presents a brand new track from the Haarlem based producer himself, along with remixes from upcoming stars Darko Esser and Shur-i-kan. The original of Basic Melody can be seen as a deep dancefloor burner, where Koning mixes his influences from Detroit as well as minimal techno into a mesmerizing progressive sound. Obviously the ideal setting for London based producer Shur-i-kan, who already made big breakthroughs with releases on labels like Freerange, NRK and Slip n Slide, to transform Basic Melody into one hell of a deephouse styled smasher. By then, you havent even heard Darko Essers side of the story yet. After doing some impressive work on Ovum, Underwater and his own Wolfskuil imprint, one of the fastest rising stars of the Dutch technoscene makes an impressive debut on King Fu, reworking Basic Melody into a subtle electro driven dancefloor climax. With lots of new sounds (and even more releases) going around the minimal techno and house nowadays, these particularly styled productions definitely make this King Fu something special again.
