Probably the most outrageous promo reaction Playtime has ever seen, Jazz Thang is what happens when you ask two producers to work together who are both just millimetres away from the bigtime. On one side youve got Andre Croms Jazz Thang, an - unsurprisingly - jazzy number that builds on the wonkier material hes already known for with Safari Electronique, Leftroom, Memo and Sender. Also on the A is Gettin Funky, a retro-90s house number with contemporary bass. But then on the B, you've got Riva Starrs amazingly catchy and fluid re-rerub of Jazz Thang - which has struck a chord from the nu ravers (Massive - Tommie Sunshine) to the commercial DJs like D Ramirez and even Tocadisco, the ubercool underground types like Karotte and Marcus Vector, and of course the king of wonk, Claude von Stroke
